One of the best things I ever got from my father and step-mother was her recipe for double layer nachos.
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground beef
1 1.25 oz package of taco seasoning
2 c shredded cheese [cheddar/jack]
1 10-12 oz bag tortilla chips
DIRECTIONS:
Brown and drain ground beef.
Add taco seasoning and water as directed.
Layer chips, taco meat and cheese on a baking sheet.
Repeat with second layer of chips, meat, cheese.
Bake at 400 until cheese melts.
Serve with toppings [diced tomatoes, green onion, sliced clack olives, shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, etc.]
YUMMY!
