There is a whole authentic Latino sub-culture in Fallbrook that we tapped into a little bit, but not really. The Avocado Festival changed that for me as I was able to explore a bit more. There is a restaurant called Pedro's Tacos here in town that is just like my favorite place back east: Dog-n-Burger... except they do Mexican food. It is a sketchy looking whole in the wall, small little shack down on Main Street. We completely judged them based off their appearance... and we were wrong!
I didn't feel like buying an $8 sausage or carnie food at the festival and was getting hungry right was I was walking by Pedro's. The place was popping and decided to stop and try it out. HEAVEN is what I encountered... I'm sure of it! I had no idea how big these tacos would be though and for the price I was legitimately expecting a smaller street taco, so I ordered two to try.
That above right there is their carne asada taco that comes with some of the best steak I have ever tasted with guacamole and salsa. I also tried the grilled fajita chicken (below) that came with salsa as well as fajita style peppers and onions on it with this mouth watering chicken!
Not kidding: I got the two tacos and a drink for about $6. I could have gone with just one taco. They are no joke. I was telling Gene about them and joking called it "Food porn". His response: "it's better!" Boy is missing his SoCal tacos and this is surely going to be a weekly weekend treat for us when he comes back! Rubio, who? We're all about Pedro's now! I have eaten there EVERY DAY since Sunday, y'all. Look at that chicken and veggies: not getting much healthier around here!
Cheers!

I love Pedro's. When I worked on base, that was my dinner a couple nights a week. LOL. I love their chicken tacos and their fish burritos. :)
This is making me miss hole in the wall Mexican food places in Vegas! There is nothing like that out here and it makes me a little sad. Yum yum yum!
Oh that looks sooo good! We have a "hole-in-the-wall" Mexican place here that is our favorite and it so cheap too! I'm thinking that now that may actually be dinner tonight...yum.
I miss Roberto's and faustos
Oh my goodness. Those look delicious! I wish we had a place like that around here! I might just have to come visit you!
