Date One: Our Anniversary {52 Dates with My Husband}

Gene and I are pretty lucky that we get to kick off each new year with a very special date: Our Anniversary! This year marks our third anniversary and we set into looking for a new place to try out. We stumbled upon a Groupon for a place we'd never been down in La Jolla: La Dolce Vita Ristorante.

We thought that would be a pretty awesome evening: trying a new place a little far from us- somewhere we wouldn't go all the time. It was perfect! We sat at a small corner table with an amazing view {well, it was a painting}, and enjoyed a delicious dinner! We started with bruschetta and then moved onto a three course pre-fixe menu )from the groupon). Gene will be having most of my meal (a delicious chicken marsala) tomorrow for lunch as I just couldn't finish!

We parked about five blocks away from the restaurant, so on our way back to the car we stopped in the Peter Lik Gallery and swooned over his very amazing photography! We're talking: "take the breath right out of my body" beautiful! He's the most awarded landscape photographer and there was no doubt as to why! There is simply no way to pick a favorite, but "Summer Dreams" definitely comes to mind as well as "Tree of Dreams"! (Sorry, you'll have to click the links to head on over and check out his artwork! Date one (which was a bonus date, and not our weekly date) was a roaring success and such a pleasant way to begin a year of dating! Our journal came in yesterday (talk about perfect timing) and I can't wait to get our pictures to begin the book! I'll be sure to share it with you once we get it done!
