Date Five: The Couple That PTs Together {52 Dates With My Husband}

With Gene being sick the weekend before this past one, we kind of got out of our dating groove. We had tickets to a really fun event at the Art Museum, but Gene would have been no fun! So we put off our date night that weekend and waited for him to get better. Recovering from the flu is no joke, and it took him a little longer than a week!

So this past weekend, he wasn't 100%, but I knew we had to get out of the house and go have a good time. We passed on a night down at the comedy club since neither of us felt like eating their awful food, or meeting our minimum purchase requirement in alcohol. Our weekend was coming to an end- what were we going to do? The couple that PTs together, stays together, and so we hit the track!

We normally hit the track together, but this day was a little bit more special. As the picture might imply, I'm not a runner. I hurt my knees pretty bad last week and so I definitely wasn't even in the jogging mood. Gene jogged a few laps, and then I decided to try the couch25k day that I was at and he did a couple laps with me... going MY pace! It was a fun afternoon spent being active and having fun together!

IT WAS FREE.

Dates do not have to include going out to eat. They don't have to include getting dressed up! Dates can be something active and FUN! Believe me, as we get closer to my first 5k, we'll be actually doing a course on base used in the PRT, and I have a fun date planned out of it! PICNIC afterwards. Macadamia nuts, water, oranges, maybe even a chocolate chip Larabar! It will be one of our more memorable dates of the year, I'm sure- because the experience will be like no other!

In a date rut with your love? Get out and hit the track together! Take it slow, talk to each other while you walk or jog laps, maybe even have a fun little race! It surely makes a fun date!

Random question, but is your husband wearing a shirt from The Citadel?

Loving all your date ideas so far! I keep sharing them with the hubs in hopes that he'll like one and we will get some new date ideas. He loves being active so I might just be able to convince him to do this one!
