What Would You Wish For? Saturday Morning Sessions

For today's Saturday Morning Session, Gene and I are talking about something light-hearted: wishes! But we share this video as we prepare to walk for wishes with Make-A-Wish San Diego. Today, we were supposed to join thousands of others in making the dreams of children with life-threatening medical conditions come true. Sadly, I woke up feeling like death warmed over and didn't want to crawl out of bed, and Gene has been dealing with some tummy issues, so we did not get to walk. Our donations bought a child gifts and souvenirs on the trip of their lifetime though!

The Make-A-Wish Foundation's mission statement is:
"We grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy."
Wishes start with this question: "If you could go anywhere, meet anyone, be anything, or have anything you most wanted... what would you wish for?" Children between 2 and 18, that are diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition are eligible for their wishes being granted. I sit and cry as I look through the wishes granted section of Make-A-Wish San Diego and see how selfless some of the wishes are, how innocent some of the wishes are, and how caring people are to help them be granted! Darren, a 14 year old, wanted to give his high school football team new uniforms and his wish was adopted by Nike {you can read about his wish here}. Eric, 16, wished to feed children in Africa, and Make-A-Wish Committee made that happen {you can read about his wish here}. Evan, 8, wanted to be an Army Ranger {you can read about his wish here}. Mason, 7, wanted a clubhouse, and WCM, Inc. made that happen {you can read about his wish here}.

What would your wish be, friends? Here is what Gene and I would wish for:

*All information concerning Make-A-Wish was gathered from Make-A-Wish San Diego's website.

I hope you guys are feeling better today! Hahaha Gene made me laugh, it always cracks me up when he says, "Gene, your husband." lol! You guys are too cute.

What a good idea to answer those questions - TMZ would be fun! And a private jet? Heck yeah!

Have a happy weekend friend! xoxo
